2009: Huey's by 5bjackson in Huey's
Our last point of interest is Huey's Restaurant. Let me describe the diner for you. Outside, Huey's has a large patio, for enjoying your meal outside under a green and white striped awning. Huey's logo is of Prospector Pete, leaning on a barrel flipping a coin. Inside, the walls are bedaubed with works of modern art and crazy drawings by visitors who brought pens. The partitions are not the only place to gawk, however, for the ceiling is layered with toothpicks. Many powerful-lunged men, women, and ankle-biters have shot these stick out of their straws and stayed in the weak roof. Every now and then, the staff collects all the toothpicks in the roof, and holds a contest to see how many toothpicks were collected in total.Started in 1970 by Thomas Boggs with a mouthwatering menu, Huey's has it all. With in the flesh performances on weekends, Huey's is a restaurant besotted by all Memphians.
